When I first started reading about Affiliate Marketing and product launches last May I thought I had found a really easy way to make money online. The way it was first described to me was that I simply start the process and then sit back and watch the profits roll in. Well it took 6 months and a loss of £2500 of my own money to make me realize this is a lie. Maybe you have experienced the same problem?

So what was I doing wrong?

When I look back now I was probably doing most things wrong. About 90% of what I was doing I no longer do!

Google made a fortune off me back then because I was literally doing everything wrong when promoting myself on AdWords. For example I was finding the most generic keywords and putting myself on page 1 for them expecting lots of sales. Imagine how much money this cost?

I didn’t even have a landing page for my products, I was direct linking to the Affiliate sales page and the one landing page I did try to setup converted about 1 in 1000 it was really that bad.

The bonuses that I offered as incentives to buy where at least 5 years old and had no valuable content whatsoever. As a result my refund rate was quite high, so the few sales that I did get 50% of them claimed there money back!

If you are doing any of the above now then STOP! You are literally wasting your time & more importantly your money. Please do not do these things anymore or you will end up in more & more debt.

So how did I turn it around, what did I do that worked?

Well remember the guy in the forum that gave me his affiliate marketing methods? They turned out to be a goldmine of secrets. There was stuff in there that I hadn’t even heard of and I thought after 6 months researching everything in the affiliate marketing domain that I knew everything!

The Affiliate marketing methods I have been taught alone are worth thousands and I know I will continue to use them for the rest of my life.

I would like to give you an example of one of these methods….

This is a method that will send your conversions through the roof. Everybody knows that to have better conversions you must offer your visitors a bonus or two.

Remember above I used to offer any old tut that I thought would be good enough to convince visitors to buy. Well these days I take a lot of care with my bonuses and actually spend more time on those than my landing page and Google marketing.

What I actually do is obtain a copy of the product I have targeted to promote. I then read the product and review it. I then look at the negative aspects of the product or more importantly what its missing. Once I have targeted what’s missing I then source highly valuable information that would fill this void and create a product of my own!

I write the product, build a sales page, design the product box art and put this live as a real product that people can buy directly. What I then do is go back to my affiliate promotion and highlight on my landing page that the affiliate product is missing information that could help the reader even more. I then tell them about the new product I created and show them the sales page, but then I tell them they can have this free of charge just for trying the original Affiliate Product!

You can imagine how valuable the bonus material looks to the visitor & to be fair because I have sourced highly valuable content the bonus is actually serving a purpose other than making them buy. Your visitors will appreciate this and will be much more likely to buy from you in the future.

This probably sounds like a lot more work, and it is, but at the end of the day the conversion rewards are certainly worth it!
